thanks for the replies but let me clarify. #'s per minute was just what I saw used for comparing different models per manufacture. I'm just looking for a quality grinder at a decent price, as I'm sure most of us are. I think I'm going to go with the sausagemaker model that baconoligist posted.thanks...

I'm looking to get a real grinder. I have a kitchen aid now and I made 50# of kielbasi,it took forever to grind it as I like to grind twice thru the same size plate. yes .you got that right.I used drywall screws in mine but as you see by the pic's I'm not concerned about rust streaks,it' kinda on the rustic side. Your's however is nice cedar and the streaks wouldn't fit in very well.IMO. carry on .orf...

you should maybe use stainless steel screws nick you don't want to have them "bleed " on all that nice cedar.JMO ,nice so far.orf...

I had an old fish pump that we had from when the kids were small that I tried to use. It didn't work so good so I went and bought a new pump at the walmart's. It works great I think I could use chips,dust or any combination of them. I have 50# to do this weekend for the holiday I'll let you know how...

Just thought I'd ask if someone had some pic's or tip's of removing the bone from a butt? with its odd shape I thought some might find it hard to do. I just follow around the bone with the tip of my knife till I remove it but I'm sure someone here is an old pro at it and would like to share their me...
