Pecan Smoked Pecans

Post by Butterbean » Mon Jul 01, 2013 02:27

Pecan smoked pecans. Sounds reasonable right?

Melt 1 cup of butter in a heavy pot.
Add 3 TBS of brown sugar
1 tsp of salt
1 TBS of mollasses.

Mix together good then add 2 lbs of pecans and stir to coat all the pecans.

Put in smoker and smoke at 250F for 30 minutes then remove and stir pecans then put them back in the smoke for another 30 minutes.

The sweetness and the saltiness is very interesting however they are very addictive. I would think this would be good to for most any nut.

You are right. They can be handy to have. I once ate at a 5 star restaurant in Chicago where we were treated like kings. Menu didn't have prices on it and if you envision a lost pup sitting in the middle of a freeway this is what I looked like. Talk about being out of place. I was. I asked the matre de what was good and he ordered me some cod (?) drizzled with maple syrup and pecans on top. I didn't think you could cook fish without batter and oil but this stuff was incredible.
