We are just finishing up a prime rib supper. Chuckwagon`s Spicy BBQ Mustard was a huge hit. I usually serve a wasabi/mustard sauce but opted to try Dad's version. The group has declared it a dead heat.
Wasabi powder is a very convenient addition to soups, stews sausage etc. It is basically dried and powdered Japanese horseradish. It is very hot so use it sparingly.

Wasabi Mustard Sauce

¼ tsp Wasabi powder
1 tsp Mustard powder
1 tsp Sugar
3 Tbsp fresh or sour cream

Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for at least one hour. Use sparingly with beef, salmon or oysters.
You can increase the cream or add milk/water to thin it out. This is 3 alarm stuff so be cautious, unless you`re from the south. In that case, quadruple the quantities and add it liberally to one dish.
