With corned beef brisket on sale this month ( at a fraction of the cost of fresh brisket) It's time for corned beef sandwiches and pastrami Rubens!
And a side of slaw. Been making this recipe for over 30 years, from a Sunday Parade section on BBq in the 80's. Best I have ever had. Like the recipe says don't change anything!

Thanks. I'll have to give this a try. I am a big cole slaw fan. I have my favorite recipe but will definitely give this a shot.

My good wife got a similar recipe from her grandmother. Instead of celery seed, she uses diced celery. She will have to go with the seed next time to ascertain if there is an improvement in taste. Everyone who has partaken of it as she makes it, has raved about it. Our son, an accomplished home chef in his own right, has also served it, and has received similar rave reviews.

Make the dressing a day in advance and mix an hour before serving. The celery seed is, I think, what sets this apart from other coleslaw dressings. Its more intense than plain celery.

The wife always makes her dressings & dips the day before to allow the various ingredients to release their particular flavours into the carrier.
