Iron door on a smoker

Talk about anything here as long as it is not against the rules.

Question from Novice: Mr. Peter J. Van Brussel's most excellent smoker is shown on page 228 of Meat Smoking and Smokehouse Design. Pardon my ignorance, but does the iron door shown on the smoker lead into another smoking chamber? Can someone say where such a door can be purchased? Thanks. Frank.

Frank, post this as a new topic in the Hyde Park section and you should get some good response.

I don't have that book, so I can't be of much help. If you can point me to a picture I may be able to assist you. I've made 1 or 63 smokers in my past.

Many Thanks. Here is a picture of an amazing smokehouse built by Mr. Peter J Van Brussel of Ohio. My question is does the iron door lead into another smoking chamber and where do you get such a door? Again, Thanks. Frank. http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media ... F8&index=1

Welcome Frank I don't know whats behind that iron door maybe a smoking chamber? maybe a oven? or maybe just some cooking tools and stuff. Here's some links to some doors.

AH!!! I know this pit! I followed the building of it a few years ago or so.

This link will explain that the door is a storage area.

The cooking area for this critter is down the "smokestack area". Pictures of this pit are also located on the home page of this web site.

Stonehenge again
