Thanks folks! I very much appreciate the warm wishes. Hey, did you realize that everyone shares the same birthday with over over fifteen million people? Yup, it`s true. And in England, when you reach one hundred years of age, you receive a telegram from the Queen. How about that? Back here in the United States, the most common birth date is October 5th. Why? It`s because if you were born on this day, your mother likely conceived on New Year`s Eve.

Best Wishes,
Chuckwagon

Belated birthday congratulations Mr. Chuck!

I had never heard that about Oct. 5. I was born Oct. 6. Either I was a day late or that was one long party. Hey, maybe that's why I've never really liked champagne!

I was born on October 1st. Maybe the older kids got sleds for Christmas.

Thanks very much guys! I sure appreciate your thoughts. Hey did you know that the world's largest birthday cake was created in 1989? Yup, it weighed 128,238 pounds and used 16,209 pounds of icing. That's a little crazy isn't it? I'll bet Ross Hill could make one just like it!

Best Wishes,

I would need 3 ready mix trucks to make the icing.

If we all chipped in enough pork fat to render into lard, and got sugar contributions from you guys in upstate New York sugar beet country, and butter from the folks in Wisconsin, we could all drop by Ross's house some weekend and... WooHoo!

Now, about the cake recipe...

I once made a very large batch of biscuits for a fundraiser at church and someone asked for the recipe. So I started to tell them and they walked away. Start with 20 pounds of flour and a can of baking powder and a cup of salt that's when they wandered away.

Jim n' Jean, are you folks still making a ham now and then. Seems like you made a perfect boiled ham about this time last year. Are you doing it again? Thanks for the kind words.

Best Wishes,
Chuckwagon
