My boat "Bietzpadlin"
My boat "Bietzpadlin"
ON This past Saturday Nancy and I passed the ownership of our sailboat to new stewards. With proper care she should last for another fifty years. So now I am land locked and not terribly thrilled about the prospect.
Ross- tightwad home cook
Ross cherish the memories but forget about giving up the sailboat - life goes on and the most important thing is not to use the time you had for sailing by sitting on the sofa watching TV and regretting being a land lubber. They say you can`t teach old dogs new tricks but that is a myth - look at my age and I just started the sausage making hobby last year but then my wife insists that mid-seventies isn`t old and I think she is right. Best regards to you and Nancy.

I would think sailing would be hard work but I'm sure shore leave would make it worth it.
Years ago I got some leave in Charleston SC. I'll always remember one particular night. Later I was walking down the street and Admiral James Stockdale stopped and offered me a lift. When I saw his rank I didn't know whether to wet my pants or run. Did neither and met one of the finest men I've ever met.
Somehow I think salty air forges stronger memories.
