Oyster on the Half shell
Oyster on the Half shell
So I went to load the Primo with Lump coal and The fire bowl finally gave out, This fire bowl is not that old.
Not to worry, I ordered another one a couple months back and replaced it lickity split ;D
So I scrubbed all the bay gunk off the oysters and let them sit while the primo got up to temperature.
Then I put the whole oysters on the grill for about four minutes until they started spitting juices out and then pulled them off and half shelled them.
Then used Cajunaters recipe for Oysters and drizzled with garlic butter and put the Ramono and parmasian cheese on with a bit of fresh parzley ;D
I also tried something new that I saw about a year ago, "Garlic Spears". They were good, drizzled with annies Garlic Olive oil and Johnnys seasoning.
Almost done......
Plattered.....
And Plated....
Thanks for hangin in there until the end ;D
Charbroiled Oysters
32 oysters, on the half shell
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 tablespoons finely chopped garlic
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (use Parmagiano Reggiano)
1/4 cup grated pecorino Romano cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped parsley
Have a bunch of fresh french bread handy for sopping up juices!
Heat the grill over medium-high heat.
Melt the butter with the garlic and pepper in a large skillet. Mix the Parmagiano and Romano cheeses in a small bowl.
Spoon some of the melted butter mixture onto each oyster. Add a pinch of the combined cheeses to each oyster, add a pinch of parsley, then place on the grill. Grill the oysters until they are hot, bubbly and puffed, about 8 minutes.

Looks like a great recipe! My favourite are Oysters Rockefeller, but I will give this one a try. No shortage of oysters around here. limit is only 15 per person but I can probably collect that many in 3 minutes. My smoked oysters are popular with about half my friends. The rest run away from all oysters.
