People wanting to set up a curing chamber often ask whether a chest freezer can be used. If you get a moment Rodney, can you post pictures and a description of the equipment and mods you made to make your freezer operational? Your experience would help in answering questions on the subject.

Redzed. I saw your link. Those are the identical dual temp and dual humidity controllers I have. I only have the heat plugged in during fermentation and I have not needed it during curing. I read the other link regarding the sensor reading high. Mine too. But, instead of relying on the numbers on the controller, I put an outboard reader in the refrigerator. That's the one I monitor. I disregard the number on the controller. All I did was set the H-Y to 1 along with the HYH to 1 and HYD to 1. This will keep the chamber within 4%. If I look at the internal reader and I need to go down 3 or 4%, I just bring the controller H-1 setting down 3 or 4% and check it in 12 hours. Again, I disregard the number on the controller. I trust the internal readers.

Hello Bob, Yes I realize that. The settings are quite weird due to having to make calculations based on the HYD and HYH sub-settings. I wish there was a way that displays the H-1 based on what you really want,,,,then the HYH and HYD settings will compensate for the range. This was the reason I created the spreadsheet.

Yep. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond. They had the Eva Dry 1100's in stock. I bought one. I was at 84% before dehumidifying. I plugged this in and changed my settings on the Aubern. I am holding 78 right now. Seems to be working. Thanks
