Your quest can take several paths depending upon how you build and use. What form of wood you plan to burn is a factor. A venturi type made by many utilizes an air pump from a fish tank or a bait well. I just use a firebrick burner and a long smoke pipe and a smoldering fire.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill! :D

I am trying to make a suplemental cold smoke generator and have all I need but the air supply. And did not think that a fish tank air pump would give enough air.

Oldman,
Believe this old geezer, an aquarium pump works extremely well.
If you decide to buy one, get a model with 3 air velocity buttons.
I have owned such set up for years will no problems at all.
Email me if you need more info.
Cheers,
Jan.
