Hi,
I've made nearly all my stainless hooks from 316 SS, this is food grade here. I get 6 metre lenghts of 3,4,5 and 6 mm from the importer. They are damaged ( slight bends) and I swap a few bottles of my 40% hobby distillate for them.
Both parties are very satisfied.
I made a metal mould with different tube sizes so that I can make various size hooks, only one end is sharpened.
Regards,
Jan.

When you need only hang a chicken you don't need a heavy hook. I made these from the wires in a stainless steel whisk. They reliably hold three pounds. Image I paid 40 cents for a whisk and got ten hooks.
