I am looking for some hooks to hang my sausages from in my smoker. I was looking at stainless steel S hooks. Does anyone have any other suggestions or a idea where I can get stainless s hooks for cheap?

I found some stainless steel BBQ skewers in a yard sale and bent them into "S" hooks. Image

Ross - those are real pretty. Is there any problem with galvanized?

Thanks,
Jeff

Instawares has several sizes of F. Dick hooks, the 4" hooks are only $1.38 each.

SausageMaker has 6" hooks for $2.99 each.

In the days before stainless steel all hooks were made by blacksmiths from low alloy steel. They were washed dried and stored. Galvanizing is the process of dipping steel into molten zinc so that the zinc will react with any corrosives and protect the steel. I don't know about the toxicity of zinc but instinct tells me to avoid it. yard sale skewers can often be had for a dollar or two per dozen.

BR, I bought 30 2 inch SS hooks on eBay from China. I think I paid around 12 bucks including shipping. But 2 inches might be too small for your purpose. I use them to hang products in my curing chamber.

Bamboo grows freely where I live and I use it for many purposes.
