Heads up on pork deals
After two months in the Excited States I'm finally home. This morning, just before I crossed the border, I stopped at the Cash and Carry in Bellingham and bought 88lbs of boneless pork butts (10 butts in total, packaged 2 in crayovac bag). Current price id 1.57lb, so I was happy about that. Costco price in Bellingham was $1.99.
I also had intended to buy a 40lb box of boneless chicken thighs for around $48. Chicken thighs make great summer grilling sausage and I was thinking of all the different kinds that I was going to craft. My plans with the chicken were unfortunately quashed as there is a ban on bringing all chicken products from the US to Canada due to the avian flu virus.
Thanks to Cabonaia for tipping me off about the Cash and Carry chain. Great store serving the restaurant industry. If I lived on the mainland I'd be there often.
