bbq competition

Post by atcNick » Sun Apr 28, 2013 17:33

The wifey and I entered a bbq competition a couple weeks using a borrowed pit (I recently sold mine and my new one is not ready).

41 teams entered. We hit 4th place in chicken, 5th in ribs, and 7th in brisket. Enough for Reserve Grand Champion! We were excited considering it was only our 3rd contest and the compeition we were up against.

Congrats ATC. For only so many competitions under you belt, that's great. Guy your age and talent, just tell us when and where your restaurant will be. I'm dieing to try competition quality BBQ but there's not many here up north. Keep up the good work and good luck.

Congratulations Nick !
Be prepared to receive requests for recipes, methods and advice ! To do that on a borrowed pit is quite something too.

Hey Nick! It looks like FIRST place to me! That smoke ring and glaze look perfect! We might have to send Davezac and Nuynai down to Texas to talk to those judges. Nice goin' pal.

Best Wishes,

Nick we know that our food is very good but it is always nice to have others confirm our opinions. I can't say anything about the taste but the appearance is beautiful. Well Done.
