Looks like we might be facing a dietary change soon.

Talk about anything here as long as it is not against the rules.

The alternative is not attractive by any means. her medical oncologist acknowledged yesterday that they are overwhelmed with cancer cases because people are living longer. He said we used to have a heart attach and die. People don't die from heart attacks any more, they get a stent or a bypass and go on living until they get cancer.

I'm confused. Is it that the nitrites in our food is making us live longer or is it that the nitrites in our food is giving us cancer?

The short answer is yes. ;-) Doctor said 1 out of 3 women over age 80 will get breast cancer. That doesn't include the ones that had it before they reached that age.

So, will she let me teach her how to play poker? Please give her our very best and kindest wishes. Tell her everyone at WD is thinking about her and we're in her support!

Best Wishes,

My son is in med school and has helped with some research at the Mayo Clinic and he has told me of some fascinating things they are working on for cancer. One of the things that really shows promise is a virus type thingy that they make inside the person so its unique to the individual and their cancer. Its a ways from being released but the tests are showing lots of promise.

CW, Nancy says that she doesn't gamble and with her face playing poker would never work. She enjoys knowing that so many people care about her.

BB the research being done on cancer is covering the entire spectrum of cellular biology. They just had an eye opener at Hopkins. They had a new supply of mice delivered and they injected them to induce cancer and none of them developed cancer! So they investigated the history of the mice and learned that they had been treated for a common parasite. The side effect of this treatment seems to inhibit the development of lung cancer in mice.
