Talk about anything here as long as it is not against the rules.

Rainwater Harvesting Registration

Post by Krakowska » Sat Jul 12, 2014 15:52

http://waterrights.utah.gov/forms/rainwater.asp

Hey CW, is this for real? Got an e-mail from a friend who said it was illegal in Colorado to "Harvest" rain water. Looks like there are states out there who are serious. (No water collecting but since "Pot" brings in mega dollars THAT is OK in Colorado) WOW!

Looks like it is for real and a growing industry for the bureaucrats:

Geeeze Fred,
All I know is that all the hydrants out here have started following the dogs around!
Shucks pard, we had a heck of a nice rainstorm the other night, but nothing got wet!
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill! :D

I am surprised about the "harvesting" word. It's very upmarket and a yuppy expression.
The same wording is here as well.
No doubt, the rest of the so called Socialist Regimes in this idiotic world will follow suit shortly
to keep a whole bunch of no-hopers in over-paid jobs, just to check everybody out.
Being a polite person, this is the only comment I am going to make.
Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!!

The form says that a couple of rain barrels is alright. Here in Maryland we are getting enough rain that I have to dump the bird bath water to kill the mosquitos.

If charging for "harvested (no uppem) collected "rainwater" is back dated I will have to declare myself bankrupt.
I have been on rainwater tanks for the last 30 years.
Aaron, this socialist phenomenon as to what is happening in Colorado will eventually happen here.
Cheers Mate.

Got a question fellas. When I would start a thread or a new topic I would get notice in an e-mail that someone commented on that topic. For the last week or so this is not happening. Is this me or the forum? My profile is still at receiving notices when a thread was commented on.

Always notify about replies:
Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic: .YES

In the western states of the US water has always been in short supply and often fought over. Rain barrels have always been accepted because that was house water. But some people would dam small streams and deprive their down stream neighbors of water needed for livestock. The result was a series of laws regulating the flow and use of the available water resources.
