Chef R. - I've got the Cabella's (AKA Tre Spade) 3/4 hp grinder. It was something of a splurge because for my needs a $100 type would work fine I am sure. Still, it is really good and I love it. BTW, a foot switch is great to have, but don't pay $50 for the one from Cabella's. You can get the exact some one much cheaper on Amazon.

I am all "Cabela'ed up"!!! 1hp commercial grinder with about 10 different sizes of plates, Cabela's mixer that I can hook up to the grinder, a jerky slicer that fits on the grinder motor, a 10" commercial slicer, Cabela's 15" commercial vac sealer, and a 15 lb., 6" clear lexan, water powered sausage press, made by a Hutterite colony is Sask. I smoke my stuff in a 20 cu. ft. stainless smoker that originated as a milk cooler in a college institution that I got for the hauling away. I installed an electric heat unit, Johnson controls which give me total control of time and heat.
